Data protection for applicants

Lufthansa Aviation Training GmbH has commissioned Deutsche Lufthansa AG, BRE LO/T-R to process the online applications and administer the aptitude assessments for the ab initio pilot training courses of the European Flight Academy.

We attach great importance to protecting your personal data. In view of this, we would like to inform you about the following data protection principles, which Deutsche Lufthansa AG undertakes to consistently observe in the interests of ensuring that every candidate can apply to the European Flight Academy with full confidence and trust:

We use and process your personal data in our application management system solely for the purposes of ensuring the correct and effective handling of the application procedure.

In submitting your personal data you automatically authorize us to store such data for the above purposes. You may revoke this authorization at any time. Such revocation will, however, mean that we are unable to further process your application.

A stored application will be kept in our system for a maximum of 12 months. After this 12-month period, agreement to the provisions of this Data Protection Declaration must be obtained again from the user concerned. Should it be so obtained, the data may be stored for a further 12 months.

Should your application not result in your acceptance for pilot training, a “recognition data set” will be stored in our system, to enable us to recognize you should you apply again. This recognition data set will consist of your last name, first name, address, date of birth, school-leaving qualification and aptitude assessment history.

All the data transferred to our application management system are automatically encrypted by LAT. All the actions taken to ensure data security always reflect and incorporate the latest technologies available.

Lufthansa Aviation Training only makes such use of such data to the extent required for such purposes.

If you have provided us with personal data, we will use these only to respond to your inquiries, in connection with any contractual agreements which we have concluded with you and for our technical administration.

We will not pass your personal data on to any third party.

Any provision or transfer of personal data to official institutions or authorities will only be effected within the parameters of the relevant legal provisions. Our employees, our suppliers and all our further partners are committed by us to confidentiality and to data secrecy as specified in Article 5 of the BDSG, the German Federal Data Protection Act.
